内容:The keynote speaker is actor and comedian Aasif Mandvi, correspondent for The Daily Show. In addition to his Comedy Central roles, his film and TV credits include “Music and Lyrics,” “Spider-Man 2,” “Freedomland,” “The Sopranos,” “CSI,” and “Law and Order.” The Opening Ceremony also will mark the 10th anniversary of the ATS Foundation Research Program and will highlight many of our international activities.

“How to Cure a Lung Disease: The Cystic Fibrosis Story”

内容:World-renowned scientists, clinical investigators, and other thought leaders will review how our understanding of cystic fibrosis lung disease has rapidly advanced and led to the development of novel therapies that are changing the lives of patients. This symposium will describe how cystic fibrosis-related clinical and research programs can serve as a roadmap for other diseases, and how partnerships between patient organizations, clinicians, scientists, and industry can be transformative.

2015 Respiratory Health Awards, featuring the Amberson Lecture

内容:The Amberson Lecturer is an individual with a career of major lifetime contributions to clinical or basic pulmonary research and/or clinical practice. The lecture is given in honor of James Burns Amberson, an international authority on chest disease and tuberculosis. This year’s lecturer is Augustine M.K. Choi, MD, chairman of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and physician-in-chief at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. In addition, the Society will recognize individuals whose contributions have helped to improve health worldwide by advancing research, clinical care, and public health in respiratory disease, critical illness, and sleep disorders.
